  1. BASEBALL CARD KEEPER (BCK) TO OYC CONVERSTION UTILITY

  6. USER MANUAL ----------------------------------------------

  8. This utility will convert BCK files (data files) created by the
  9. Baseball Card Keeper software to OYC formated catalog files.
  10.

  13. USING THIS UTILITY -----------------------------------------
  14.  
  15. To use this utility copy it to the directory containing the
  16. BCK software.  At the DOS prompt for that directory type:
  17.  
  18.         BCK_OYC <and push ENTER>
  19.  
  20. You'll then be prompted to enter the filename for the BCK
  21. file you wish to convert.  You can also enter a drive letter 
  22. and path, if the file to be converted is located on
  23. another drive or in another directory.
  24.  
  25. The utility will then convert the BCK file and create an OYC
  26. catalog file of the same name.  Once the conversion is complete,
  27. copy the two files (they end with DAT and SET) created for each
  28. BCK file that was converted, to the directory containing your
  29. OYC software.
  30.  
  31. OYC allows you to have up to 10,000,000 cards in a catalog.
  32. If you wish, you can combine individual catalogs, created
  33. by separate BCK files, into a single OYC catalog.  This provides
  34. the advantage of letting you do several things:
  35.  
  36. 1) You can get the complete total value for your entire collection,
  37.    or any part of it.
  38.  
  39. 2) You can find all the cards of a specific player, without regard
  40.    to what year it was issued, or which company issued it.
  41.  
  42. 3) You'll have a total count of the total number of cards in your
  43.    collection.
  44.  
  45. To combine OYC catalogs, use the "Copy Entries" feature on the 
  46. Utilities Menu.  This feature takes the entire contents of one
  47. catalog and copies it to (adding it to) another catalog.

  51. DO NOT ERASE YOUR ORIGINAL DATA FILE UNTIL YOU ARE 100%
  52. CERTAIN THE CONVERTED (the new OYC) FILE IS GOOD AND
  53. INCLUDES EVERYTHING.
